The symbols of the self arise in the depths of the body and they express its materiality every bit as much as the structure of the perceiving consciousness. The symbol is thus a living body

How I work

Working mainly on a one to one basis with adults ( 16+) Mindful Rebalancing offer sessions for both short and longer term work which we negotiate at the onset to some extent and which may be adjusted or modified where necessary along the way. You will be guided and encouraged to integrate any insights and space created during the sessions into your daily life. It is possible to choose single sessions or follow a series of sessions depending on your intention and the process which unfoldsIt is generally advisable to have at least 5 sessions. After the 1st and 5th session we will reflect and evaluate the process.

Working from an integrative perspective, which may include working with symbols, dreams, movement and bodywork, enables Mindful Rebalancing to draw on a wide range of theories and practice to support your needs and goals as well as possible, make fitting choices and develop conscious progressive ways forward.

Finding the right words, pictures and even movements to express the felt sense, may strengthen your authentic sense of self and empower you to live and speak your own truth facilitating natural healing, growth and change.

I aim to meet you where you are now, which could involve:

  • Exploring and making sense of what happened in the recent or distant past and how past events may be influencing your responses in the present.
  • Processing any grief and loss; actual physical loss of a loved one, divorce , loss of health, work, loss of a “sense of self’.
  • Identifying and utilizing existing resources and discovering new ones to support the change process.
  • Creating space for change with mindful awareness, Inquiry and attention to dreams.
  • Raising consciousness around (once needed) creative strategies and ways of relating which may no longer work.
  • Identifying and loosening patterns of thought and behaviour which may accompany these strategies.
  • Finding renewed meaning and ways forward.
  • Respectfully contacting and exploring physical discomfort or pain which may be stored in the body.
  • Slowly and safely encouraging any frozen tensions and emotions to be expressed and released.
  • Attention to body posture and the felt sense of body movement.

Within the confidential safe space the therapeutic alliance offers, the Mindful Rebalancing approach may enhance the capacity to consciously reflect, mentalize, regulate emotion and increase all-round stability and flexibility.
